Ala Kukui is located just outside the town of Hana, situated on twelve secluded acres of gently sloping land with views of the Pacific Ocean and Haleakala, Maui's majestic mountain. The property includes a large retreat house and separate community studio. The main house has a large meditation hall, with a fireplace, wood floors, and glass doors that open onto a covered lanai with ocean and mountain views.

Three comfortable bedrooms and three baths open out onto separate lanai, integrating the beauty of the land with the interior space. There are a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities. The house design is currently suitable for four to eight overnight guests or facilitators. For day use, the house itself can accommodate forty-five participants.

A separate community studio can accommodate fifteen to twenty participants, depending on the activity or event. The space includes one large room with sliding glass doors, an outside covered deck, and a private bathroom. It is located approximately two hundred yards from the main house and is rented for day use only.


Facility Rental

Our facility can be rented for both day and overnight use. If you are interested in renting our facility, we require a written proposal of intent. All proposals must meet specific requirements, and programs must align with the mission and vision of Ala Kukui. We will be happy to send you our proposal form and discuss rental fees and availability.


Lodging & Accommodations

Guests needing accommodations will find lodgings in Hana to suit most needs and budgets, ranging from intimate inns and quiet retreats to the world-famous Hotel Hana-Maui. Camping facilities are also available at Wai'anapanapa State Park (permit required) and Haleakala National Park in Kipahulu. We are happy to provide a list of local accommodations in the Hana area.
